The Dutch shipping company ANTHONY VEDER (Rotterdam) placed and order for a new LNG carrier at MEYER WERFT. The tanker is scheduled for delivery in late 2012, the shipping company's press release said.
The ship specifications: LOA - 156 m, beam - 22.70 m, cargo capacity - 15,600 cbm. The modern vessel will be powered by low emission LNG fuel and will comply with the highest environmental standards.
MEYER WERFT's sister company, NEPTUN WERFT in Rostock-Warnemünde, will be highly involved in the construction and outfitting of this new LNG carrier. The contract will ensure jobs for the Papenburg-based shipyard up to 2012, the company said.
