Maersk drops plans of WSC for St. Petersburg port
Maersk Line abandoned plans to implement an Emergency Winter Surcharge (WSC) in the Big Port of St. Petersburg, PortNews reported citing the Maersk Line's St. Pb office. The liner operator said it would not introduce new tariff rate of $ 100 per 20-foot container and of $ 200 per 40-foot container in January, also has no plans to do it later.
According to the company, the decision was made due to the fact that the ice situation at the port turned out more favorable than forecasted.
