New HSC for Bornholm service launched in Australia

The Austal shipyard at Henderson, Australia, has launched the HSC ferry (hull no. 246) for Færgen A/S, Shipgaz reports . The ferry will later this year officially be named Leonora Christina after the dishonoured queen, who was imprisoned at Hammershus castle on Bornholm.
The new ferry will be deployed on the Rønne–Ystad run with a capacity for 1,400 passengers and up to 357 cars or. Four MAN-engines type 20V28/33D will power the vessel, each developing 9,100 kW to a service speed of around 37 knots. The DNV-classed ferry has a price tag of around DKK 440 million.
