Third tanker of New Armada type delivered to Palmali group by Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard
The third product and chemical tanker IMO2 "Bashir Safaroglu" type was put into operation by Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard on 23.09.2008. Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard is included in group of companies "Marine and oil-and-gas projects" (MOP). Palmali group is a ship-owner.
Vessel's "Bashir Safarogu" project (RST22) is designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB), Odessa.
The vessel's project RST22 is the development of 005RST01 prj. tankers with deadweight of 6400 tons, known as "Armadas". They were designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau earlier for Palmali group and were built at ADA and SELAH shipyards in Tuzla (Turkey) in 2002-2006.
Ten Armada type tankers are successfully maintained on the river-sea and ocean transportations in Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas, including voyages around of Europe and to Irish Sea in winter. They transport crude oil, masout, diesel fuel, other petroleum products and vegetable oils.
Using full-circle rudder propellers as movement and manoeuvre facilities, using submersible pump, full absence of a framing in cargo tanks are characteristic features of RST22 and 005RST01 projects vessels. These vessels have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL.
Vessels satisfy dimensions of the Volga-Don canal and Volga-Baltic way. Overall RST22 prj. vessel length is of 139.95 m, breadth is of 16.6 m, depth is of 6.0 m.
Vessels belong to "Volga-Don Max" tankers' type.
New project tanker have increased marine function, increased deadweight in marine conditions and increased total cargo tanks capacity with keeping river possibilities in comparison with vessels of "Armada" type.
Vessels satisfy all new international requirements for transportation of vegetable oils, including two-compartment unsinkability.
Special requirements of the Russian and world petroleum companies, additional ecological limitations "ECO PROJECT" class were taken into consideration during designign.
Theoretical hull forms were designed using methods of calculation hydromechanics (CFD modulation).
Total capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop ones is of 8090 m³, deadweight is about 7050 tons when sea draught is of 4.60 m. Deadweight is about 4700 tons when river draught is of 3.60 m. Cruising speed is of 10.5 knots.
Two medium-speed diesels (main engine) of 1200 kWt each use heavy fuel oil with viscosity of IFO380.
Vessel's Russian Maritime Register of shipping class notation is of KM Ice 2 R1 AUT1 COMBO oil tanker/chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP) ECO Desing.
The keel of vessel "Bashir Safaroglu" (building number is of 07003) was laid down on 26.04.2007. She was launched on 18.07.08 and was put into operation on 23.09.08.
In the series ten tankers are supposed to build, as well as in "Armada" series.
Another vessel of this project can be put into operation during this year.
