China Shenhua Energy posts 16.5% profit growth for H1
China Shenhua Energy Co Ltd, the country's largest coal producer, has posted RMB 22.73 billion-net profit for the first half of this year, 16.5% more than in the same period of last year, China Knowledge reported.
Earnings per share were 114.3 RMB cents and no interim dividend was declared.
For the first half of 2011, the Shanghai and Hong Kong-listed firm's operating revenue surged 40.5% year on year to RMB 100.69 billion.
In the reporting period, China Shenhua Energy produced 140 million tons of commercial coal, up 18.4% year on year, and its coal sales swelled 31.1% year on year to 190 million tons. The average sales price stood at RMB 428.6 per ton, up 5.5% from a year earlier.
The firm's electricity output and sales amounted to 848.1 gigawatt hours and 789.7 GWh in the first half of 2011, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 24.2% and 24.3%, respectively.
