Manzhouli exports consumables, auto to Russia soar 61% in H1
NORTHERN China's Manzhouli overland Russian border crossing posted a foreign trade value of US$3.18 billion to Russia in the first half of the year, Xinhua reports.
But import value fell 43.3 per cent to $2.62 billion while exports grew 61 per cent to $560 million. Imports declined over six months, hitting $530 million in June with a drop of 25 per cent. But exports kept growing, up 35 per cent in the first half and 83.7 per cent in June to a record $130 million.
The land port's export cargo focused on consumption goods and building materials with a surge in auto exports of 10.4 folds in the first six months. Import declines were attributed to the Sino-Russia oil pipeline's operation, whose throughput fell sharply.
