The Taiwanese company said in a statement that the two firms will cooperate on shipping routes between mainland China and other emerging countries in Asia.

President Robert Ho said that the imposition of the peak season surcharges, which started in mid-August, will help boost the firm's revenue.
Yang Ming Marine Transport's revenue reached NT$48.04 billion in the first half of this year, down 0.72% from the same period of last year. The company's second-quarter revenue was NT$25.14 billion, increasing 9.78% from the first quarter of this year, but declining 5.31% from a year ago.
Yang Ming Marine Transport is the second-largest container shipper in Taiwan in terms of revenue.
