PIL, MCC to launch Bangladesh-China services
Pacific International Lines (PIL) and MCC Transport will jointly launch the industry's first direct connections between Bangladesh and China, Seatrade Asia online reports. The new service, named BTC, will start on 9 September with irregular initial services for every two to three weeks.
PIL will deploy a 1,645-teu containership and call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Guangzhou-Nansha, Singapore, Chittagong, Singapore, Laem Chabang and back to Shanghai.
MCC Transport, Maersk's intra-Asia feeder service, will start its China-Bangladesh SH-1 service the same week with four 1,500-1,700 teu ships, calling at Singapore, Shanghai, Tanjung Pelepas, Chittagong, Tanjung Pelepas, and back to Singapore and Shanghai.
