Shipment of project cargo intended for power generating units number 2 and number 3 of Nyagan hydropower plant, was implemented from the port of Rotterdam (Netherlands) on the Northern Sea Route to Yamburg (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District), and further, by river barges to the port of Sergino (the Ob village of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District), the Russian Ministry of Energy said.
The cargo of the total weight of more than 2000 tons was transported by heavy-lift carrier BBC Seine. The power equipment was manufactured in Germany (gas and steam turbines), USA (generators), Indonesia (condensers).
"The complicated logistics scheme turned out successful thanks to the experience we obtained while delivering similar equipment for the first power unit a year ago. The cargo had been insured by major international and Russian companies. We are going to begin step-by-step delivery to the NHPP site. We plan there will be 190 hauls. It’ll take about three weeks. Further, we will be ready to commence installation of the equipment and its integration…," said the hydropower plant’s Construction department Oleg Polyantsev.
