Fujian's road and water transport volume up in first seven months
Southeast China's Fujian province posted a 5.4% growth in road transport to 274 million tonnes and 10.9% in water transport to 106 million tonnes in the first seven months of the year, Xinhua reports.
Road transport moved 430 million passengers with a same level in last year while water transport shipped 8.73 million passengers with a 9.5% rise.
The province invested CNY41.59 billion (US$6.5 billion) in water and road transport infrastructure with a 36 per cent growth, ranking it third nationwide in the first seven months.
Investment in expressway construction grew 31.5 per cent to CNY25.3 billion, and highway with a 58.4% rise to CNY1.02 billion, water transport project with a 13% increase to CNY5.03 billion and so on.
