Recently, the 150 meter semi-submersible barge, being built for NIMITRANS PTE LTD, kicked off construction in COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard. Representatives from the ship owner and ABS class, and Mr. Zhao Fuqiang, Deputy G. M. of COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard, attended the steel cutting ceremony, Cosco Shipyard said Friday.
This project is not only the first semi-submersible barge to be built by COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard, but it is also the first new-build order awarded by a Singapore owner. It has great significance for the Zhoushan yard, enabling exploitation of the Offshore Service Vessel market and development of the best project management and production process.
