Workers insist Falmouth Docks dredging goes ahead amid green groups' concerns

A petition has been submitted to Parliament signed by more than a thousand former Falmouth Docks workers calling for it to be dredged.
Unless a deep water channel is created in the harbour- a 100 million pound masterplan that would see cruise liners able to dock won't be able to go ahead.
Environmental groups are concerned about the impact of the dredging.
However campaigners hope the government will strike the right balance between the environment and the economy.
The long term plan forecasts that if approved, the move could increase jobs in the town by 138 percent by 2030.
