Palmali lands two-year contract with Yug Rusi for oil products shipping
Shipping company Palmali (Rostov-on-Donu) has signed an agreement with Yug Rusi Group for a two-year period (until 2014) to transport petroleum products by river tankers and ‘rive-sea’ ships from Novoshakhtinsk refineries.
According to the contract Palmali will be transporting annually up to 3 million tons of petroleum products produced at Novoshakhtinsk refinery (Rostov region, member of Yug Rusi Group). The products will be shipped from the terminal of Novoshakhtinsk refinery in Rostov-on-Don to FSO vessel at anchorage in the Kerch Strait.
The agreement is the third long-term contract of Palmali Group concluded with the Russian producers and exporters of petroleum products. Earlier, the shipping company had secured contracts for transportation of petroleum products of Russian oil giants LUKOIL (extended until 2020) and RussNeft (until 2021).
In 2010, Palmali carried via Russia’s inland waterways more than 4.5 million tons of oil products. Half-year volume of oil cargo shipments has totaled 2.4 million tons.
Petroleum products were transported by the shipping company in the Volga-Don and Azov-Don basins, in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Seas.
Palmali is a general carrier of SOCAR (Azerbaijan). In 2010, Palmali commenced crude oil shipping from the commissioned marine transshipment terminal "Yuri Korchagin located in the northern Caspian Sea.
