APL's volume up 8%, revenue per FEU down 20% in four weeks
APL, the container shipping arm of Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines, recently announced its performance between July 20 and August 26, seeing an eight per cent year-on-year increase to 235,200 TEU, but 20 per cent decline in revenue per FEU to US$2,559 due to higher volumes but lower freight rates on intra-Asia and Asia-Europe services, Shippingazette reports.
Average revenue per FEU also dropped seven per cent on a year to date basis to $2,567.
