TSA change leadership structure
The Transpacific Stabilization Agreement shifted its leadership structure from a single chief to a six-member executive committee, as the 15-Pacific carrier group takes a broader approach to decisions, Journal of Commerce reports.
The change in leadership structure took place on July 21 after the expiration of the 18-month term of TSA Chairman Y.M. Kim, who is president and CEO of Hanjin Shipping.
While TSA’s executive committee has been in place for some time, it had been acting in purely an advisory capacity. The executive committee will now be responsible for direct leadership through collective discussion and strategic decision-making, TSA stated in a release.
“The move reflects TSA’s expanded, more diverse membership over the past two years and the need to base strategic decisions going forward on members’ different geographic, customer and cargo market profiles,” TSA stated.
Members of the current TSA executive are Ken Glenn, president of APL; Anchor Chang, president of Evergreen Marine; W.W. Lee, Hanjin's deputy president and chief executive of container business; Lars Mikael Jensen, Maersk Line’s vice president of network and product for Pacific services; Kenji Mizushima, NYK Line's global liner management division CEO and board director; and Andy Tung, chief operating officer at OOCL.
