Maersk hikes Asia-New Zealand rates
Maersk Line will implement a general rate increase on shipments moving from Asia to New Zealand, starting Oct. 15, the Journal of Commerce reported.
The proposed increase will be $250 per 20-foot and $500 per 40-foot container.
“In order to continue offering our broad portfolio of services and high level of reliability, it will be necessary for us to implement such rate increases,” Maersk said in a trade notice.
The Danish carrier’s move follows a similar GRI announcement by OOCL on the same trade lane, also effective Oct. 15.
