Port tech companies invited to India trade mission
The Commerce Department is inviting port and maritime technology companies to apply for a trade mission to India Feb. 16 to 24, 2012, the Journal of Commerce reported.
The mission will visit Chennai, Ahmedabad and Mumbai, with an optional stop at Kolkata. Commerce said the mission will give participants the opportunity to meet one-on-one with prospective buyers who are developing India’s port infrastructure.
Between 15 and 20 companies will participate in the mission. The department said it expects to complete the process before Nov. 18, and applications received after that date will be considered only if space is available.
The registration fee is $3,760 for large companies, and $3,560 for small and medium-sized enterprises, plus $750 for each additional representative. Participants also are expected to pay their own travel expenses.
