St. Petersburg Gov. to promote icebreakers orders for Baltic Shipyard
St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko will be seeking new icebreakers orders for St. Petersburg-based Baltic Shipyard, the PortNews correspondent reports quoting the official, who attended the launching ceremony of a serial tanker of Project 2734 at the shipyard.
Baltic Shipyard is currently executing a contract for four non-self propelled vessels ordered by Baltic Fuel Company.
Baltiysky Shipyard (part of United Industrial Corporation, UIC) is one of the largest shipbuilding enterprises in Russia. The company specializes in the construction of nuclear-powered or diesel icebreakers and ice-class vessels, large tonnage vessels for shipping various cargoes, warships, Ro-Ro, Ro-Pax vessels, products carriers, etc. The company manufactures a wide range of engineering products, power equipment. It is also a supplier of ferrous and steel castings.
