Krasnoyarsk Shipyard launches second Project 0150/2907 barge-platform for Yenisei Shipping
Krasnoyarsk Shipyard launched on September 28, 2011 the second barge-platform of payload capacity of 1,100 tons of Project 0150/2907, built this year for JSC Yenisei River Shipping Company (ERP). The ship was named "PD-1002", the shipping company said.
The first barge of the series was completed by the shipyard and delivered to the customer in April this year. The project vessels are designed for transportation of a range of goods including coal, timber, sand, equipment, containers and vehicles. The barge-platform hull features the lowest resistance in the water and is suitable for pushing ahead by tugs.
By the end of this year, Krasnoyarsk Shipyard plans to launch two more barges. Yenisei River Shipping’s fleet expansion project includes construction by 2015 of 50 non-self steered vessels.
Yenisei River Shipping Company is the main carrier of goods on the waterways of the Yenisei River basin. The company operates a fleet of 650 dry cargo vessels and tankers with a total 680,000 DWT. During last year’s navigation the Company transported about 3.3 million tons of cargo. The main shareholder of ERP is Norilsk Nickel.
Krasnoyarsk Shipyard was founded in 1929 and incorporated as a joint stock company in 1993. The shipyard specializes in construction of shallow-draft vessels for navigation in small rivers. Throughout the years the company has built about 3000 ships: pusher tugs, dry cargo carriers and passenger ships, tankers and oil barges, barges-platforms, pontoons for river crossings, etc. In 2010, Kransoyarsk started construction of specialized containers. Now the company employs over 270 people.
