Nanchang port upgrades container terminal capacity, adding 4 berths
EAST China's Nanchang port in Jiangxi province plans to upgrade and expand its cargo and container terminals by adding four more berths, reports Xinhua.
The project's first phase will build two 2,000-tonne liquid cargo berths while the second phase will build one more berth of the same type and one 2,000-tonne bulk cargo berth.
Nanchang port's container terminal was built in 2005 and had a designed capacity of 50,000 TEU by 2009. Due to limited capacity, it now needs to expand to meet the container movement increase in coming 10 years.
