Kuehne+Nagel appoints Rooney to Trans-Pacific post
Kuehne + Nagel named former carrier executive William F. Rooney this week as its vice president of sea freight for the trans-Pacific, the Journal of Commerce reported.
In his new position Rooney will lead all of the logistic provider’s market efforts for the trans-Pacific in the U.S.
Rooney joins Kuehne + Nagel with 38 years of experience in transportation management. Most recently, he was a partner with Chassis Partners, and before that he was president of Hanjin Shipping America, responsible for North and South America.
Previously, Rooney held a number of senior management positions with Sea-Land Service for over a span of 25 years in the U.S. and Europe. He has also held senior management positions with GT Nexus and CMA-CGM.
