Sinochem International to build chemical facilities in Lianyungang port
Sinochem International has signed an agreement with Lianyungang Port in China to build a tank farm in the Qitai area of the port, Seatrade Asia online reports. The two firms will be in charge of bulk liquid loading and discharging in the fast growing port.
There will be 640,000 cu m of tank storage costing some RMB600m in first phase development, though the pair say the project could ultimately be expanded and cost up to RMB2bn.
Three wharves will be built capable of handling 50,000 to 100,000 dwt ships and the whole project is spread across 36 hectares.
