Modec to convert very large crude carrier in FPSO
Japan's Modec and Brazil's Schahin Group will convert very large crude carrier Sunrise J into a floating production storage and offloading vessel for use in Brazil, Seatrade Asia online reports. ?The two companies will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, mobilisation, and operation of the vessel, to be re-named the FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24, and scheduled to arrive in the third quarter of 2014. ?That work will include topsides processing equipment as well as hull and marine systems, they said in an announcement. ?The FPSO will be capable of processing 150,000 barrels of oil per day, 280 million cubic feet of gas per day and have storage of 1.6 million barrels of total fluids.
