CSAV restructures India-Europe Service

Chilean container carrier CSAV is reorganizing its IMEX 1 Service connecting India, the Middle East and Europe, starting this month, the Journal of Commerce reports.

The changes include an additional direct call at the Port of Rotterdam and suspension of an existing call at the German port of Bremerhaven.  As a result, all Bremerhaven-bound shipments will now be rerouted via Rotterdam, CSAV said in a trade advisory.

The restructured IMEX 1 offers transit times of 22 days from Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru Port) and 20 days from Mundra to Rotterdam. Nhava Sheva and Mundra are India’s leading container ports on the west coast.

The new IMEX 1 port coverage is as follows:
Westbound: Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Salalah, Jeddah, Valencia, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Felixstowe.

Eastbound: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Jeddah, Salalah, and Nhava Sheva.

The MV Maule, which arrived at Nhava Sheva Oct. 10 and is slated to call Mundra Oct. 13, will make the first direct call at Rotterdam.
