Port of Temryuk traffic volumes soar 30.4 percent to 1.85 million tons
Cargo traffic at the port Temryuk in January-September 2011 rose by 30.4 percent compared to last year’s figure, to 1,855,000 tons, the Port Authority said.
The traffic growth was driven largely by outbound cargoes, including 123.900 tons of timber, 17,000 tons of scrap metal, 92,100 tons of chemicals, 928,700 tons of general cargoes, 216,600 tons of grain, 97,000 tons of fertilizer, 305,600 tons of fuel oil and 73,800 tons of non-ferrous metals.

Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The port has 1,2km-long waterfront. The port of Temryuk handles primarily general cargoes, round timber, lumber, metal. In 2010, Temryuk port’s cargo throughput declined by 7.4% to 1,95 million tons.
LLC Maktren-Nafta is the only Russian terminal of projected annual capacity of 1 million tons, designed for year-round reception, storage and handling of liquefied gases. Berthing facilities of the complex and the access canal enable the port to accommodate vessels of tonnage of up to 5,000 cbm.
