South Korea's Busan port moved higher container throughput in September year-on-year but volumes fell compared to August, Seatrade Asia online reports. The East Asian port handled 1.32m teu of containers last month, up 16.4% compared to 1.14m teu in September 2010, according to statistics from Busan Port Authority.
Container traffic, however, fell month-on-month compared to 1.37m teu recorded in August.
In the first nine months of this year, Busan port registered 12m teu of throughput, an increase of 13.5% compared to 10.57m teu in the corresponding period of last year.
