Coal stocks at China's 4 major Bohai Sea ports up 10% on week
Combined coal stocks at China's four major ports along the Bohai Sea rim rose by 1.44 million mt, or 10.41%, week on week to 15.203 million mt on December 4 after a slight drop in the previous week, Qinhuangdao Port said in a release, Platts reports.
The Qinhuangdao Port held 7.268 million mt coal December 4, up 713,000 mt, or 10.87%, week on week; while Tianjin Port held 2.44 million mt December 4, up 287,000 mt, or 13.36%, week on week.
Coal stocks at Jingtang Port rose 320,000 mt, or 12.30%, week on week to 2.92 million mt December 4; while coal stocks at Caofeidian Port rose 120,000 mt or 4.87% week on week to 2.58 million mt December 4.
Meanwhile, the number of vessels at the four ports began to drop in the week to December 4.
Qinhuangdao Port had 90 vessels December 4, down 36, or 28.57% week on week; Caofeidian Port had 26 vessels, up 14, or 116.67% week on week; Jingtang Port had 20 vessels queuing, down eight, or 28.57%, week on week; and Tianjin Port had 22 vessels, down 4, or 15.38%, week on week.
In the week to December 4, Qinhuangdao Port's inbound coal railings totaled 4.878 million mt, down 26,000 mt, or 0.53%, week on week.
Its outbound coal shipments in the same period dropped 1.042 million mt, or 19.99%, week on week to 4.167 million mt.
