Dae Sun Shipbuilding wins order for three 17,500-dwt multi-purpose carriers

Busan-based Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering of South Korea has won an order for three 17,500-dwt multi-purpose carriers from the State Company for Maritime Transport of Iraq, Seatrade Asia Online reports. ?The newbuilding price is $24.5m per vessel with delivery to be made by 2013-2014. ?Dae Sun, under a debt rehab plan, is planning to get into the offshore sector in 2012. This order, and the ability to offer firm refund guarantees, shows it is now back on a firm financial footing, the yard said.
