Seatruck Ferries and Fredericia Shipping to start new ro-ro service between Fredericia and Moss

Seatruck Ferries Ltd and Fredericia Shipping A/S will jointly start a new ro-ro service between Fredericia and Moss. As from January 1, 2009, Seatruck Ferries will offer three weekly sailings in each direction with the ro-ro ferry Moondance, that will do the crossing on 20 hours. Moondance has a capacity of 50 trailers and can accommodate reefer trailers as well as dangerous goods. Also the ro-ro has accommodation for twelve drivers.
“We made a study showing that a lot of traffic from Norway are going to the area around Fredericia including the connection to the Baltic area via DFDS’ BalticBridge and only a short distance to Hamburg”, says Klaus G. Andersen, Fredericia Shipping in a statement.
The Moondance has been sailing on the Irish Sea services from Warrenpoint to Heysham and Dublin–Liverpool. The vessel will be replaced by one of four new ro-ro’s delivered from Huelva in Spain.
