In the services between the Far East and Northern Europe, the loss of the AE8 will be compensated for because the cooperation with French partner CMA CGM will be terminated. In Northern Europe, the AE8 now serves Le Havre, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Zeebrugge in turn. For Rotterdam, it is one of the services in the ‘Daily Maersk’ programme that provides fixed guarantees for transhipments from Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian and Tanjung Pelepas.
In contrast to earlier reports, Zeebrugge, Le Havre and Hamburg will not be included in the ‘Daily Maersk’ programme. The guarantee that compensation will be paid for late arrival does not apply to these three Northern European destinations. The Danish shipping company mainly uses Rotterdam, Bremerhaven and Felixstowe as hub, but also wants to emphasise its presence in Zeebrugge, Hamburg and Le Havre because rival CMA CGM is strong there.
