Sinopecs crude oil terminal put into operation in Tianjin

A 300,000-ton crude oil terminal of China Petroleum and Chemical Corp (Sinopec Group), parent of the country's largest petrochemical producer Sinopec has been put into operation in North China's Tianjin Municipality, sources reported.
As the supporting facility of Sinopec's 1 million-ton-per-year ethylene project in Tianjin, the crude oil terminal is designed to have the annual throughput of 20 million tons.
It is expected to become the nearest and largest transportation and storage base of oil products for major petrochemical enterprises in north China, so as to ensure the oil products supply in Beijing and the Bohai Bay Rim.
More than 70% of the total crude oil used for Sinopec's refineries is imported, sources said.
At the beginning of this September, a crude oil terminal of Sinopec was put into production in Caofeidian, north China's Hebei province. With the annual receiving capacity of 20 million tons, the Caofeidian terminal has begun to transport crude oil to Sinopec Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical, Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical and Cangzhou Refinery.
