Thailand’s Laem Chabang port eases Customs burden

Thailand’s Laem Chabang port has speeded up the release of cargo by inspecting it beforing entering the Customs sub-gate, according to the Thai News Service.
The move was to reduce the workload of the Customs Bureau.
Where exports are required to be inspected – for example re-export, goods transferred from a bonded warehouse – the export practitioners are required to file a request plus relevant evidence such as container numbers, status 2029, invoice and packing list to the Customs Service Subdivision before entering the sub-gate at the port. The authority will be assigned to inspect the cargo and grant approval for cargo release.
