Rizhao launches new box services to Korea, Japan

Northeastern China's Rizhao Port has started two separate weekly container shipping services to Korea and Japan from the container terminal at its west port area, Logistics Week reported.
The two new lines are expected to bring 30,000 TEU to the Port of Rizhao each year, offering faster shipping to and from Rizhao and its hinterland cities while helping to reduce cost.
In addition to the two new lines, the Port of Rizhao is currently offering four international shipping services. The thrice-weekly service to Pyongtaek, Korea can carry 210 TEU and 785 passengers with a 17-hour sailing. The port is also offering a thrice-weekly feeder service to Qingdao and eight other internal trade services that contribute more than 50,000 TEU to port volume.
Rizhao port handles about 6 million tonnes of transshipments between China and Korea every year.
