The Russian dredging vessel Stepan Demeshev, detained by North Korean coastguards on November 9 for allegedly violating the state border, has been released, Interfax reports.
The crew has finished repairing the engine, the North Korean coastguards have left the vessel and the ship is heading to the point of destination, the Vladivostok RescueCoordinating Center told Interfax on Monday.
The Stepan Demeshev, registered at the port of Nakhodka and owned by the Northern Dredging Company, was detained by North Korean coastguards 3.6 miles off North Korea on Sunday. The ship, carrying a 14 crew, was escorted to port Chongjin for an inquiry.
