Thirty six ships waiting for two weeks to discharge cargo at Nigeria's Lagos ports

Thirty six ships carrying bulk cement, bagged rice, bulk wheat, general cargo, fish and vehicles have been waiting to discharge their containers at Lagos ports. The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) shipping position also shows that sixty-six other ships are expected into Nigeria in the next three weeks. Nine have vehicles, 15 have petroleum products, and five others have general cargo. Some operators blamed it on the long public holidays in September and October, but others say is it based on the increased cargo into Nigeria since the start of the year.
