Ukrainian Mykolaiv shipyard increases ship repair work

The Black Sea Shipyard (Mykolaiv, South Ukraine) is increasing the volume of ship repair work.
"The Black Sea Shipyard should reach the planned gross income of UAH 60 million or even exceed it by the end of this year. The current implementation of the target is over 70%. Eleven contracts have been fully implemented and another nine are being executed. Another contract will soon be signed for the thorough modernization of four tankers that foresees the processing of 1,000 tons of metal on each of them. This figure is equal to the average volume of work on the construction of a ship hull, similar to those that are built at the Black Sea Shipyard under latest contracts," Plant Director General Vitaliy Ilnitsky said.
The state joint-stock holding company Black Sea Shipyard, founded in 1897, is the largest shipbuilding plant in Ukraine and one of the most powerful ones in Europe. Over 1,000 ships and vessels of various types and purpose were constructed at the plant over a century. The plant exported its ships to Sweden, Bulgaria, Norway, Romania, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Kuwait, India, and Greece.
