Jinzhou port becomes the third in China after the ports of Tianjin and Dalian that is put on the "base port list" of the world's top ocean carriers.
Jinzhou Port has been growing rapidly and breaking into the list of top 15 ports in China during recent years. Its container throughput is expected to reach 700,000 TEU by the end of this year. The port mainly handles mineral imports from Australia and New Zealand as well as other imports from Dubai and Africa. It exports to southeast Asia, Japan and Korea.
