Oil export of port Primorsk down 10% from the beginning of November

Oil export of port Primorsk (Leningrad region) has fallen 10% from the beginning of November, a source in the port says. The company attributes the decrease to the fall of oil supply by Baltic Pipeline System caused by unstable economic situation and oil prices decrease.

The port hopes the decrease will not reflect the volume of shipments planned for November, which is 6.5 million tonnes.

Primorsk throughput stopped growing in the third quarter of 2008. in the 9-month period of 2008 the port’s throughput grew by 1%, year-on-year, to 56 million tonnes.

Commercial Seaport Primorskis the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk field as well as from West-Siberian and Ural oil-and-gas provinces.
