Net profit of Murmansk Commercial Seaport up 7.4 times in Jan-Sep 08

In January-September, 2008, Murmansk Commercial Seaport increased its net profit by 7.4 times to RUR 663.923 million, Gudok referrs to the company’s financial reports according to Interfax.

In the reported period, the company’s revenue grew by 82.5%, year-on-year, to RUR 2.103.335 billion. Sales profit increased 5.8 times to RUR 907.738 million, pre-tax profit – 6.8 times to RUR 872.613 million.
in the reported period the company’s short-term accounts receivable climbed from RUR 128.106 million as of January 1, 2008 o RUR 145.782 million as of September 30, short-term accounts payable – from RUR 140.47 million to RUR 326.764 million.

Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC is a stevedoring company operating at the port of Murmansk. Murmansk Commercial Seaport is the largest coal transshipment point in the North Sea Basin. Besides, the company specializes in transshipment of apatite and general cargo including containers.

Major shareholder of Murmansk Commercial Seaport is Specialized Project Investments B.V. (63.53% of ordinary shares). The state owns 34% of the company’s shares.

In 2007, the company’s throughput amounted to 14.443.213 million tonnes (+2.4%, year-on-year).
