The forth vessel of the New Armada series has left the Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard for Midel plant in Aksai for fitting. The product and chemical tanker IMO2 Araz River designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB, Odessa) is to pass the Volga and the Volga-Don canal before river navigation is closed. The vessel is supposed to be put into operation on December 10-15, 2008, MEB reports.
The tanker is built by the Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard for Palmali Group.
New project tanker have increased marine function, increased up to 650 tons deadweight in marine conditions and increased total cargo tanks capacity with keeping river possibilities in comparison with vessels of "Armada" type. Vessels satisfy all new international requirements for transportation of vegetable oils, including two-compartment unsinkability. Vessel's Russian Maritime Register of shipping class notation is of KM Ice 2 R1 AUT1 COMBO oil tanker/chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP) ECO DESING.
