The service was launched when the 366-TEU container ship, the Baltic Sea, was loaded at quay 730 in the port of Antwerp on November 4. The vessel will call three times per month, with the round trip estimated to take 10 days on average, a statement from the Antwerp Port Authority said.
Merilinja Oy was said to have chosen the Port of Antwerp as the gateway offers access to the US, East Asia and the European hinterland.
