Muuga container terminal increased cargo transport by 1% in Jan-Oct 08

The number of containers processed in the Muuga CT Container Terminal operating in the Port of Muuga grew by 1% in the first ten months of the year 2008, writes EPL Online/LETA.

While transporting goods from the east to the west decreased, freight transport of import goods grew by 5.2%.

From January to October, the Muuga CT processed 154,400 TEUs while during the same period of time last year the amount was 152,900 TEUs.

“This demonstrates that our terminal is still attractive for both owners of the goods as well as for logistics enterprises and the attractiveness is increasing,” said the CEO of Muuga CT Sergei Artjomov.

In the second half of December, Muuga CT will launch a new multifunctional complex that will include specific areas for monitoring refrigerating containers, another unique container crane RMG and an extended park of railroad branches for up to 60 carriages.
