Russia to lay down new serial composite multihull HSVs
The company Composite Shipbuilding LLC plans to lay down in early June 2012 lead vessels of three series of catamarans, the company told PortNews.
This will be the beginning of the first phase of a joint project of Composite Shipbuilding LLC and RUSNANO Group to create in Russia production of high-speed vessels made of composite materials using nanotechnology. The main yard of Composite Shipbuilding is located in Vladivostok, and the assembly facility is based in St. Petersburg.
The recreational boats were ordered by the Customer - the Vladiviostok-based Eurasia Shipping, engaged in passenger traffic, with the use of composite multihull HSVs.
The series include: 4 vessels of PACIFICO PATROL 167 (a high-speed patrol boat, featuring high seagoing and speed capabilities), 40 boats of PACIFICO EXPRESS 30 (a catamaran for 30 passengers), and 10 boats of PACIFICO EXPRESS 150 (a high-speed passenger catamaran with a capacity of 150 persons. The HSVs are scheduled for completion in the summer season of 2013.
The cost of a PACIFICO PATROL 167 is RUB 49.5 million, PACIFICO EXPRESS 150 – RUB 87.5 million and PACIFICO EXPRESS 30 – RUB 10.5 million.
The serial HSV projects were designed in conjunction with the Australian and New Zealand design offices, the world’s leading companies providing high-speed multihull boat solutions. The construction is to be supervised by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The shipbuilding and design company will introduce the multihull boats at the III International Forum "Marine Industry of Russia," Moscow, May 23-25.
Composite Shipbuilding specializes in the construction of modern composite hull vessels, primarily of high-speed passenger catamarans and special purpose boats. In 2011, the Company successfully completed Russia's first high-speed passenger vessels made of composite materials, constructed passenger catamarans for the APEC summit in Vladivostok, 2012 (under contract with the Primorsky Territory Administration).
