Ukraine’s Ministry of Transport and Communications considers construction of container terminals in the ports of Odessa and Iljichevsk. The three projects under consideration are valued at some $2 billion, Igor Urbanski, deputy Minister of Transport and Communications reports.
According to Mr. Urbanski, construction of a 800,000-TEU terminal in the port of Iljichevsk is preliminary valued at $560 million, the other terminal in Iljichevsk, which is to handle 1.2 million TEU per year is to cost $860 million, while Odessa terminal is valued at $500 million.
