The planned further new facilities will include a 1.2 km repair quay, with an alongside water depth of 12m, a 200,000 sq m offshore fabrication area with load-out quay, which is fundamental in the development of ASRY’s increasing involvement in the offshore oil and gas markets through ASRY Offshore Services (AOS) and four new 23 m, 45 ton bollard-pull tugs, which ASRY will build. The new facilities are expected to be constructed over the next two and half years.
The yards reports that, “as with all major ship repair yards” it has been at full capacity for the past nine months, with a full workload experienced across the board by all departments. Total sales to date this year are $157.94m comprising sales in the international markets of some US$ 93m and in the Arab markets of $64m.
This year some 114 vessels have been booked to date at ASRY and 101 have been repaired.
