Shenzhen's Qianhai Bonded Port Area project has been approved by the China's State Council, making it the ninth such facility to be built in China, reports Logistics Week.
The Bonded Port Area is Shenzhen's fifth special customs supervision area, apart form such Bonded Areas as Futian, Shatoujiao, and Yantian and Yantian Port Logistics Park. It lies in the west of Shenzhen port covering 3.7 square kilometres.
The bonded area features business such as international transshipment, distribution, sourcing, transit trade and export processing while enjoying the same tax and foreign exchange policies as in bonded and export processing areas.
