M/t “Marchekan”, owned by PRISCO (Singapore), was rewarded by U.S. Coast Guard AMVER for regular reporting information, necessary for search and rescue of persons in distress on the high sea. AMVER CERTIFICATE OF MERIT and BLUE AMVER PENNANT were presented to the management of PRISCO (Singapore) on the Embassy of the United States of Amerika in Singapore. Both CERTIFICATE and PENNAT are now on the way to the ship. It was told by Executive Director PRISCO (Singapore) Mr. Alexey Matskevich.
AMVER system (Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue (AMVER) System) was established in 1958 to quickly provide information about position of the vessels near US coasts. Voluntary ship reporting system is used by search and rescue persons and ships in distress on the high seas. There were saved hundreds of vessels and thousands of lives on 50year’s period of work. Only in 2007 were saved 450 lives.
