Passenger boat sinks on the Neva River in St. Petersburg
The Rossi, a recreational boat owned by Albatross, with 13 passengers and 2 crew members on board and the cargo ship M/V Kelarvi (owner - Onegoship) collided on the Neva River in St. Petersburg, in front of the Summer Garden, the head of the North-West department of Gosmorrechnadzora Dmitry Atlashkin told PortNews.
The incident occurred early morning of August 1, 2012. As a result the pleasure boat's hull was breached and sank. All of the boat’s crew and passengers were evacuated to safety, no one was reported injured, the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of the Transportation Ministry said.
