Maersk Line Ltd. acquires US ship operator
Maersk Line Ltd. acquired 3PSC, a privately held ship operator based in Cape Canaveral, Fla., the Journal of Commerce reports.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
MLL, the U.S.-flag subsidiary of A.P. Moller-Maersk, will take over 3PSC’s current contract for the operation and maintenance of special mission ships owned by the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command. MLL plans to integrate 3PSC operations into its Norfolk headquarters by the end of the year.
3PSC, founded in 2002, has about 20 employees who operate and manage vessels for the Military Sealift Command.
Gary King, the founder, president and CEO of 3PSC, will leave 3PSC as part of the agreement.
