Somali pirates attacks drop twofold

In January-July, Somali pirates hijacked eight ships, which is two times less than during the same period a year earlier, the NATO’s Operation Ocean Shield statistics said. Overall, there were 20 ships attacked year-to-date (vs 109 cases in 2011), 14 approaches to vessels (46), and 31 attacks were disrupted.
